Windows 7 System File replacer for Power users

Windows Techies are famous for playing with system files to either increase the functionality by replacing the core system files or completely replace with something else. I have seen this happening majorly for Games ( e.g Directx 10 files patched to work in Windows XP ).  However with Windows 7 and Windows Vista taking ownership of files is not easy.

Senate passes net interception Bill

The Senate has passed a Bill that will allow network operators — including ISPs — to intercept traffic as part of “network protection activities” disregarding the Greens Party efforts to amend it. Senator Scott Ludlam (Credit: Greens Party) The Bill, the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Amendment Bill 2009 , aims to help network operators to understand what they can and cannot do in terms of interception. Government issues $400m desktop tender

The Department of Finance and Deregulation today issued a three-year whole-of-government tender that will see vendors on a panel supply computer equipment to all Federal Government agencies. Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Lindsay Tanner (Credit: Minister’s Office) The whole-of-government tender has been issued as a response to a recommendation made by the Gershon review , released in 2008. It will see Federal Government agencies request desktop computer equipment from a single panel instead of issuing their own tenders, which would replace an interim panel set-up by the Department of Defence late last year.
