Philips 9000 LED Pro (40PFL9704H/12) review

At around £1,800, we think the 40-inch, 1080p, LED-backlit 40PFL9704H/12 LCD TV is too expensive, but, as long as you’re good friends with your bank manager, we’re happy to recommend this set. Its construction, picture and sound quality, and feature set all scream class

The Dell Mini 5 Appears

We have seen the prototype of what we thought would become the Mini 5, but it had an initial price tag of around $1,000! Clearly this is not going to fly and therefore when it is properly released the price tag should be around $500 or $600 at a push. This is not what we would expect to find from Dell, especially as there is competition in the tablet and smartbook market marketing a $1,000 mini 5 is going to be difficult. MSI show off the $500 tablet

Well it seems that Apple was only a few days ahead of the competition, if you can call MSI competition for Apple although they do tend to follow Apple lead sometimes like with the slim and light laptop in the MSI range. The strongest laptop bag around

This case is made from 1,000 denier ballistic nylon, which is basically the same sort of stuff that goes into stab vests. Therefore it goes without saying that is a tough case; in fact it is that tough the National Tactical Officers Association has approved its use. There are twenty two pockets and enough space for a 15 inch laptop, if this case is not going to protect your laptop then probably nothing will

Why You Can’t Use Your Phone’s SIM in the iPad

Apple squanders a delicious opportunity to add its weight to the open-carrier movement. With its decisions about the iPad’s specs, the company not only extends its widely reviled partnership with AT&T, but pointedly makes it difficult to bring your own broadband to its (your!) “unlocked” device

J.D. Salinger , and author who in many ways left a defining mark on 20th Century American Culture has died at the age of 91. His 1951 book, Catcher in the Rye, captured the imagination and the ire of many and became both a recommended title and book that was often banned or restricted by those who feared he language and the rebellious qualities of its adolescent hero, Holden Caulfield.

Apple iPad: Hands-on first impressions

SAN FRANCISCO — After spending some time with the long-awaited Apple iPad, I see why it starts at $499. At that price it seems like a very nice accessory for a wired home, where it would become a shared Web kiosk and media browsing device, tapping into the home’s wireless network. Instead of waiting to use a shared computer to check e-mail, you could just grab the iPad.
