Mobile Phone Tripod Holder Review

Received the Mobile Phone Tripod Holder from Mobile Fun last month for review. The mobile phone tripod holder is useful when you want to take self-shot photos (there are timers in some phones) or even videos using your mobile phone. Packaging Front View Packaging Back View When I first opened the package, I thought the quality of the tripod might be terrible and it is flimsy

The Intenet is Not a Cold Dead Place: Reddit Gifts

When a friend of mine introduced me to the link-sharing site and online community that is Reddit.com , little did I know that it would become something more than a means of idle procrastination.  The premise of the website, which operates like a combination of the more well-known Digg and an online Forum, involves users sharing articles and photos of note from around the web.  From there, registered users (and all you need to register is a username and a password!) click an upwards-facing arrow next to good articles and a downward-point arrow next to bad articles, allowing the best content to gradually seep to the top of the website.  The same process is used in user comments on articles, preventing the website from becoming the type of online free-for-all often found in the comment sections of other websites. While I initially used the website simply to waste time, the engaging nature of the community eventually made me feel comfortable enough to do something that many would deem irresponsible: give out my contact information to a complete stranger. In the month of June, several Reddit users organized Arbitrary Day, an international gift-exchange intended to bring the community closer together, uniting us internet geeks far and wide.  Seeing both Christmas and my Birthday are in the winter months, the event seemed like a great way to both give and receive a gift.  And so I submitted my address to the website, after which I was subsequently assigned a person to give a gift to.  After much thought, I opted for a beloved copy of The Last Unicorn , a little-known animated movie that has become an inside joke amongst my friends

Computrace LoJack for Laptops Recovery Déjà Vu

Absolute recently recovered a laptop after it was stolen at a café and resold to a family at a swap meet. The family alleged they had no idea the second-hand machine was a stolen item – a likely claim in many circumstances. Yet police officers were rather skeptical of the family’s oblivion.

Watch out, iPad: More tablets on the way

With Steve Jobs predicting that tablet computers will supplant laptops and desktops, this is a good time to take a look at what new tablets Mr. Jobs will soon find his iPad competing against. Many will run on Google’s Android operating system which, unlike the iPad , supports flash-based videos and animations.

A touch of retro class

Anyone that was using this microphone could easily be mistaken in thinking that they had been transported back to the 1920’s or 1930’s when this type of microphone was considered to be hi-tech, which it was. Here are the specs and features of the retro style microphone: It has two selectable polar patterns: cardioid, allowing it to pick up sounds directly in front at full volume (and sounds behind it at diminished volume) or omnidirectional, allowing it to pick up sounds at equal volume at 360º

Telstra restricting Foxtel revolution

Telstra’s half-ownership of Foxtel has long been a contentious issue – but its destructive effect on Foxtel’s more-open pay-TV vision has rarely been clearer than in the telco’s attempts to lock Foxtel to its own delivery network. In an era where improving telecommunications mean such close relationships are no longer necessary, such a deal would let Telstra create unnecessary obstacles to the realisation of the industry’s triple-play vision.

Photos: My Microsoft dinner ends with bomb scare in Seattle

A dinner tonight with Microsoft’s general counsel was interesting, but it got really exciting when I walked out of the Hotel Andra into a police scene where a suspicious package was being handled by Seattle’s bomb squad. It turned out the package was a suitcase left in front of the Warwick Hotel at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Lenora Street. A roughly two block radius around the suitcase was blocked off with about a dozen police cars
