HP Mini Vivienne Tam Edition Appears in Cameo on Black-Eyed Peas’ Video
Have you watched Black-Eyed Peas’ latest video for the new song “I gotta feeling?” Some sharp eyes were able to catch a part of the video where the lading lady was holding (or using?) the HP Mini Vivienne Tam Edition. I’ve watched this video only once, and I don’t remember noticing the said HP Mini netbook. The netbook appears at around 2 minutes 50 seconds.

We liked the look of the Lightscoop flash modifier we covered a couple of weeks back, so we tested one out. And while the camera-mounted mirror isn’t quite as easy to use as we’d hoped, it gives results way better than you’ll get from even the best built-in flash when used bare. The Lightscoop slides into the hot-shoe of your camera, making it only suitable for DSLRs which have a) a hot-shoe and b) a flash that is in the middle of the camera

It was like a dream: I’ve decided that running an email server was not part of my business, and it was time to move this function out of my infrastructure into a hosted solution. I won’t get into the fine calculations behind this decision (involving my time managing servers, cost of backups, server hardware, hard disk space, etc, etc.) since you can probably find a lot of experts (real ones and self-proclaimed ones) around to explain why it makes sense. The contenders on the first round were Google Apps Premiere (because I wanted Google Apps Sync for Outlook to keep using Microsoft Outlook) and Microsoft Online Services

Taking a cue from the recent announcements of see-in-the-dark cameras from Nikon and Canon, Adobe’s newly announced Lightroom 3 beta photo-editing software will clean up the leftover noise from these night-vision pictures. The beta, which is free to download, has a few new features, but Adobe’s big sell is the underlying programming.

I think all netbooks have roughly the same specifications featuring the standard Atom N280 processor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and perhaps even the harddrive capacity or the 10″ wide screen. When I choose a netbook, I go for the battery life and the looks of it. IDC’s server numbers were recently released, and while HP remains dominant in several key areas, IBM actually came out on top overall – largely, I think, because of its early and aggressive moves to take share from Sun as it struggled with being acquired. Linux is actually falling off against Windows, which is kind of amazing given the economic conditions, and blades appear to be the segment with the greatest strength. The market has a feel, I think, of being on the cusp of recovery and it looks like IBM as a company and blades as a segment may lead the way out.
