Want to run OS X on a HP?

Believe it or not, there are people out there that want the best of both worlds, I should know because that sounds like me! However, I am not sure about buying a brand new netbook only to hackintosh it to death by coaxing it to run the OS X. But sure, there are plenty of people that would jump at the chance. Nevertheless, what you get is the HP mini 311 with an Intel Atom Processor running OS X! This machine is due out in a few weeks time, it will cost around $400 and the hacking will be a little extra on top

ISTE is asking for input on next year’s keynote

ISTE 2010 (formerly NECC) is using a collaborative process to choose the keynote topic for next year’s conference. Imagine my delight at seeing Open Educational Resources (OER) near the top of the list! For those of you who don’t know much about OER, they are materials used for teaching and learning that are free from copyright restrictions or are publicly licensed for anyone to use, adapt, and redistribute. OERs are distinguished from other digital and/or free materials by the fact that they are open , meaning that they can be modified and redistributed freely by anyone.

What about the Globus Scriptorium

I was thinking just the other day that it was about time that I got myself a new desk, but it is not as easy as it would first sound, there are so many shapes, sizes and materials, it is an impossible job but a job that needs to be done. Then by chance I came across this desk, its cool, functional, looks pretty modern and costs $7,000, its cruel world!   Features – The foam-molded seat swivels 180°, and is padded and luxuriously upholstered in leather, placing users 1 1/2′ from the base for comfortable, relaxed reclining while working. The workstation’s sturdy volkern plastic desktop unfolds and extends from the front hemisphere, supported by a hidden steel bracket; small items may be stored underneath the work surface

Finally an airport friendly laptop bag

Using an airport is a nightmare these days so imagine what it’s like for your laptop, it has to be carried on as hand luggage otherwise by the time it has been thrown around a few times it is not going to be worth switching on again. Luckily, there is a laptop case that conforms to the requirements of the US Transportation Security Administration. That means that you don’t have to remove it from the bag and there is plenty of room in there for other items too.
