Many different companies make a variety of different types of netbooks, but not many have adopted the convertible tablet netbook that has been emerging recently. Augmented reality in your pocket – the future of mobile phones

What is Augmented Reality? In a bid to embrace augmented reality myself I downloaded the Layar Android app for my LG GW620 InTouch Max phone. In their own words: “The idea is simple: Layar works by using a combination of the mobile phone’s camera, compass and GPS data to identify the user’s location and field of view, retrieve data based on those geographical coordinates, and overlay that data over the camera view.” Thus, with a rumbling in my stomach and a glance at my watch I noted it was time for lunch, so I opened the food and drink option on Layar and selected that I wanted a pizza within 2 kilometers of my location

The LG Viewty Smart has a smart ad campaign

I have rather poor observational skills. I seem to walk around in my own world, oblivious to the new haircuts of friends or old ladies with Zimmer frames glaring at me on the bus when I don’t notice them to give up my seat. I’ve been knocked down by 2 cars and a shop mobility scooter in the last year alone.

Micro-algae Explored As Renewable Energy

BUENOS AIRES, March 18 (UPI) — Micro-algae as a source of cheap renewable energy are at the center of new research being conducted at Argentina’s National Technological University. Have a read of it all, but the bit quoted below sticks out: For years, Viacom continuously and secretly uploaded its content to YouTube, even while publicly complaining about its presence there

My First SXSW Interactive – the Value of Social

At first I was going to link-bait you with a title of “My awful SXSWi Experience” and then use sarcasm to tell my story. I've already seen enough of those, so decided to just tell an honest story of my experience and the value of connections made with real people in the real world. I've seen a few SXSWi posts and comments about how the content was awful and it was just one big party for the elites
