Be lowered in the second phase of the charge cycle, the charging current, however. The ability to absorb the load is progressively reduced when increasing the charge state of the battery. When the Sony VGP-BPS9 Sony VGP-BPS9/B charge current at too high a value remains in a later stage of the charge cycle, the excess energy is converted into heat and pressure in cells

There is a $1 billion offer on the table to buy Novell from Elliott Associates . The company’s financial performance doesn’t support this kind of price (it is 115 percent over the value of Novell as of January 4th). The investors making the bid are known for flipping companies — basically repackaging them to turn a nice profit rather than run them long-term.

Last week in Part One, we judiciously examined the life of the female online student according to cheesy stock photography. This week, we turn our well-trained eye to the male half of the species. As a male online student, you might be… …still taking your laundry over to Mom's house for her to do, which she quietly resents, because, well, you're a GROWN MAN, and so she stealthily gets back at you by using an ungodly amount of color-safe bleach on your shirts — more than any dude would ever use, if a dude were to use color-safe bleach at all, which he would not.

I have a rule about product naming and, since I came up with it, I call in the Enderle Rule (creative, huh?). That rule is: “When it comes to product naming, the only thing everyone will agree on is the person who came up with the name is an idiot.” I thought of this rule as I watched the coverage of the iPad, which has an uncomfortable connection to a woman’s hygiene product (I think Apple needs more women in high management positions), and the Windows Phone Series 7 name which, when turned into an acronym, WPS, sounds like “Whoops.”
Over on Hardware 2.0 I’ve put up a poll asking readers which browser they think will be the first to fall at this year’s Pwn2Own hacking contest. The event is spread over three days. Day 1 : Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 Mozilla Firefox 3 on Windows 7 Google Chrome 4 on Windows 7 Apple Safari 4 on MacOS X Snow Leopard Day 2 : Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 on Windows Vista Mozilla Firefox 3 on Windows Vista Google Chrome 4 on Windows Vista Apple Safari 4 on MacOS X Snow Leopard Day 3 : Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 3 on Windows XP Google Chrome 4 on Windows XP Apple Safari 4 on MacOS X Snow Leopard

What could possibly go wrong ? So, what are the risks of activation exploits? Searching for, downloading, or installing activation exploits or counterfeit software on the Internet is risky, because sites that advertise these pirated products often contain malware, viruses, and Trojans, which are found bundled with or directly built into the activation exploit or counterfeit software.

Over on Sunbelt Software’s blog , Research Center Manager Tom Kelchner offers some sound advice on how to schedule the installation of patches: Possibly a good strategy would be phased updates especially for enterprise systems: — Immediately install just the patches that fix vulnerabilities with in-the-wild exploits if you are running the vulnerable applications, modules, plug-ins, etc. — Wait three days for all others — Wait a week for non-critical (no reported exploits) updates to less-used flavors of Windows and less-used applications
