With Uncle Milton’s Star Wars Force Trainer you are One Step Away from Becoming a Jedi
The Force Trainer by Uncle Milton actually allows you to control a Jedi Training Remote with your mind, by tapping into cutting-edge brainwave technology. By utilizing dry neural sensor technology, you hear a special headset that reads and interprets your brainwaves and turns them into a movement of an object – just like a real Jedi. The deeper your concentration and the better mental focus you achieve, the greater your ability to move the Training Sphere up or down the Training Tower gets.

At work, we recently transitioned from using Novell GroupWise as our enterprise mail application to Gmail. With this transition has come a lot of headaches, mostly trying to explain to our users that the loss or change of some features they are used to using is not the end of the world. One feature that has changed is that mailto: links are not working properly.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 18 (UPI) — The pine beetle infestation of western Canadian forests is expected to close at least 16 major sawmills and cut exports by half, a report said Thursday. The International Wood Markets Group forecast released in Vancouver, British Columbia, said losses due to the insects would also cause lumber prices to rise, the Vancouver Sun reported

BUENOS AIRES, March 18 (UPI) — Micro-algae as a source of cheap renewable energy are at the center of new research being conducted at Argentina’s National Technological University. The use of algae as a source of energy is being researched in different countries across the world and is at an advanced stage in the United States. But as research has grown so has the realization that converting algae into energy may not be as cost-effective as originally thought possible

DOHA, Qatar, March 18 (UPI) — A United Nations wildlife group meeting in Qatar voted Thursday against banning Atlantic bluefin tuna exports. The Economist reported online the vote in Doha by member nations of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora was 68-20 against invoking the ban, with 30 abstentions. A witness told The Economist the vote came after Libya’s representative contended the proposed bluefin ban was based on poor science and was “part of a conspiracy of developed countries.” It is unlikely the issue will be revisited before the meeting ends March 25, meaning it will be another three years before CITES members will take it up again, The Economist said

CHICAGO, March 15 (UPI) — Federal officials say fishery crews have not caught any Asian carp in the Chicago canal system but it is still important to target the invasive species. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said Monday that despite working with nets and fish-shocking tools for a month crews have been unable to catch even one of the large fish that are seen as a possible threat to the Great Lakes. It is critical the carp to not reach Lake Michigan, where the size and hunger of the fish could pose problems for native fish populations, officials said.
SANTA FE, N.M., March 18 (UPI) — State officials say a wounded mountain lion repeatedly spotted in parts of Santa Fe, N.M., was captured and will be relocated to a more appropriate location. New Mexico Department of Game and Fish official Brandon Griffith said the mountain lion sedated and captured Wednesday is likely the same large cat recently seen visiting Santa Fe neighborhoods, The Santa Fe New Mexican reported.

JAKARTA, March 17 (UPI) — Indonesia’s House of Representatives gave a green light to the government’s plan to build nuclear plants. That decision Monday came after the parliamentary commission for energy , technology and the environment visited the country’s National Nuclear Energy Agency, which is known as Batan, during the weekend. “Indonesia can no longer rely on non- renewable energy sources such as gas and coal to generate electricity in future,” said Teuku Riefky Harsya, chairman of the commission, in a statement

Some Sunday morning reading to share. Although here, given to the clock switch, I’m not sure if it is morning, noon, or night, but I guess it is morning somewhere. History takes it on the chin as the Texas State Board of Education decides to re-jigger what can and can’t be taught in history classes

This is one of the loopiest things I’ve read in quite awhile. WGN CEO Randy Michaels has decided that certain words (119 certain words) need to be taken out of the mouths of his news folk. In a memo he circulated to staff, he’s forbidding words left and right in order to make the news readers sound more like they are talking instead of reading
Browsing one of my favorite websites, TED.com, I came across author Sam Martin discussing how the building of his backyard writing space sparked his interest in “manspaces” nationwide. I’m uncertain as to how the term “manspace” applies, as my experiences have shown the need for personal space is independent of gender. Nonetheless, I found the video interesting and relevant for writers who are “carving out” their place in this world with ample room for GADGETS…I hope! via http://ted.com

It seems that Samsung has won the battle in trying to be the first on the market with the new wave of 3D-ready 240Hz LCD HDTVs as the company is already offering a few models for everyone interested, although they will be interesting mostly for early adopters and S3D enthusiasts at this point.

Like quite a few folks I was quite moved by the recent Esquire article on Roger Ebert . On some level to say I was struck dumb might sound like a bad pun, but I certainly don’t intend it that way. In the article it was discussed how Ebert, who hasn’t been able to speak since surgery to remove his jaw, was going to experiment with software to try and be able to communicate via technology with his own voice

The Ergohuman is considered by many ergonomic chair experts to offer the biggest bang-for-the-buck in terms of ergonomic benefits. This chair competes directly with the Aeron by Herman Miller. Although one of the key features of the Ergohuman is the lower lumbar support, its “executive style” also fulfills my sole complaint of the Aeron which is the lack of high lumbar and neck support.

The rock and roll keeps on rockin’ and rollin’ and the good reviews just keep on coming in for The Buddy Holly Story at Wayside Theatre . This one is from the Culpeper Star and the critic says it all when she proclaims: Wayside Theatre brings back Robbie Limon in the title role and demonstrates once again how getting it right can be, in the words of Mark Twain, the difference between “lightning bugs and lightning” Mr

It appears that my posts a few years back about Rachel Bilson’s guest spot on Chuck has been getting some attention since Kristin Kreuk has joined for a few episodes as Hannah. I haven’t yet had a chance to watch this week’s episode of Chuck , so I can’t do much right now to comment and talk about Hannah.
