Gadget of the Week: The Vuvuzela
Few things bring out absurdly wonderful displays of nationalism like international sports, and in that regard we’re in the midst of perhaps the highlight of international sporting competitions. World Cup season brings about all sorts of excitement for both serious and casual soccer fans alike, and also (thanks to USA’s 1-1 “victory” against England) makes for excellent trash-talking calling upon historical dates and long-forgotten wars

In the UK, we are still awaiting the launch of the interesting but equally confusing Dell Streak and yet already we are able to purchase accessories for the device. The problem that faces us, is where does this Android powered machine fall into the market, is a small tablet or large phone, but one thing is for sure the accessories are pretty pricy. Take the Dell Wallet Case, this has been specifically designed for the Dell Streak, it is made from leather and folds out while allowing the device to be used without causing any damage to it such as scratches etc.

Around 4 days back I received ( I am sure you also did ) an Email from Google Alert Team saying that We’re contacting you because you have an alert of type Web. We’ve decided to retire Web alerts because (1) they are used by very few people and (2) an alert of type Everything will find the same results. So the Web Alert is gone officially and it seems logical too because the nature of Web is now not just restricted to web pages and Google Alert itself provides with the categories like News, Blogs, Video, Discussion which makes the web, I would love to have “Social Media” or “Twitter” or “Facebook” there.

Generally we download files, and save them with the same name as they have it on the server where they are hosted. In such case biggest issue is faced when you know that you have the file, as you remember downloading it lately, but you don’t know the name of the document file.

One of the of the most important aspects of Steve Jobs isn’t his marketing or presentation skills, it is that he performs the role of virtual customer in Apple and assures the acceptance of most products personally. This connection between the customer and products is rare, but it’s showcased in Apple’s amazing power and popularity since Jobs’ return. EMC and Microsoft are developing different approaches that potentially will create a more sustainable virtual customer

When a friend of mine introduced me to the link-sharing site and online community that is Reddit.com , little did I know that it would become something more than a means of idle procrastination. The premise of the website, which operates like a combination of the more well-known Digg and an online Forum, involves users sharing articles and photos of note from around the web. From there, registered users (and all you need to register is a username and a password!) click an upwards-facing arrow next to good articles and a downward-point arrow next to bad articles, allowing the best content to gradually seep to the top of the website. The same process is used in user comments on articles, preventing the website from becoming the type of online free-for-all often found in the comment sections of other websites. While I initially used the website simply to waste time, the engaging nature of the community eventually made me feel comfortable enough to do something that many would deem irresponsible: give out my contact information to a complete stranger. In the month of June, several Reddit users organized Arbitrary Day, an international gift-exchange intended to bring the community closer together, uniting us internet geeks far and wide. Seeing both Christmas and my Birthday are in the winter months, the event seemed like a great way to both give and receive a gift. And so I submitted my address to the website, after which I was subsequently assigned a person to give a gift to. After much thought, I opted for a beloved copy of The Last Unicorn , a little-known animated movie that has become an inside joke amongst my friends
With Steve Jobs predicting that tablet computers will supplant laptops and desktops, this is a good time to take a look at what new tablets Mr. Jobs will soon find his iPad competing against. Many will run on Google’s Android operating system which, unlike the iPad , supports flash-based videos and animations.

This week, the New York Times reported that New York State joined the list of jurisdictions that have passed laws directed at electronic waste. The law highlights the growing sentiment that all manufacturers should offer free and convenient programs for consumers to return their unwanted PCs and related accessories for responsible recycling or reuse. The key words here are “free” and “convenient.” Consumers say, both in surveys and with their actions, that they don’t want to pay for electronics recycling and need it to be as easy as possible.
The ongoing oil leak snafu in the Gulf of Mexico continues to be one of the political talking points here in the United States, and with good reason. With midterm elections approaching f or the US Senate and House of Representatives, there could be serious repercussions for politicians who previously advocated for increased drilling off the coast of the United States. While some political futures may be in the balance, the folks over at British Petroleum (BP) have been sweating bullets ever since the catastrophe began

Was invited to Intel exclusive blogger event on Monday, 7th June 2010, at Starhub center which is where the Intel office is. My first impression of the office is that they got tall cubicles! We are introduce to the latest Intel technology, SSD, Wireless Display, Project “Tangent Bay”, Light Peak, Super Thin Laptops and Intel’s AppStore! SSD Memory vs CPU Upgrades The bottle neck of our computer is no longer our ram or graphics card and even processer, but our hard disk drive. A computer with SSD with just 3GB or ram will outperform a computer with 7200rpm HDD with 6GB of ram
