There’s not much left of Zango anymore, but it was continuing to sue security software vendor Kaspersky for interfering with the way Zango’s downloaded software operated on people’s computers. Kaspersky treated Zango’s software as malware and “protected” users from it, prompting a lengthy lawsuit from Zango that appears to have ended with a ruling this morning by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit

Rant: Cable companies have an outdated model of making money. They think that by charging people to watch their favorite channels, they can slowly milk the retirement and life savings away from their customers and make a profit because those people need their favorite shows. Now, these big cable companies and networks, afraid to lose that business model to the free content proliferating the internet, are banding together to put a stop to free content.

Finally, summer’s here and the weather is great for playing and staying outdoors. Camping can be made even cooler if you’ve got the right gadgets to keep you cozy, clean and well-directed — unless you like roughing it, then all you’ll need is a backpack, a can of beans and a Swiss Army knife . But if you’re like me, you want a few conveniences without feeling weighed down by all kinds of junk. I like to keep it as uncomplicated and compact as possible. But hey, maybe it’s your style to drag along the foldout cook top stove complete with waist-high counter and cutting board setup and bring extraneous items like tent decor and a welcome mat for outside the entrance. Seems like a lot of baggage, but whatever works for you.

Following the upgrade of the site, I’ve successfully integrated gallery2 with wordpress 2.8, able to call wordpress functions within gallery itself and maintain your wordpress sidebar. This was not previously achievable with gallery1 considering that some wordpress and gallery share some variables which needs to be redefined to avoid conflict, with this new setup I am glad to say that problem do not exist now

Last week’s “Pogue’s Productivity Secrets” e-column, for example, got blogged and passed around far more than I would have expected. On a plane yesterday, I was flipping through an in-flight magazine and saw one of those “What’s in your bag?” photo features, where they have some celebrity dump out her purse and provide little descriptions (no doubt after careful pruning and arranging by a PR perso

If you have never heard of Lenovo computers then you need to pay closer attention to the things that are going on in the computer world. Lenovo sounds familiar to the computer buyers of today because they are one of the largest personal computer manufacturers in the world but for people that have followed the personal computer business closely you may know Lenovo better by the name of the personal computer company it purchased a few years ago and that was IBM Personal Computers. This is a cross between an all in one desk top computer and mini laptop, in fact with the handle down this computer can service as both, which is cool if that is what you want. The problem that faces the manufacturers is space, there is as little space inside an all in one desk top as there is in a mini laptop and so we are finding that firms like Shuttle are bringing basic versions of this type of computer
